 The Living Learning Center (LLC) has been hyped as one of the best additions to campus in recent years. Completed in 2006, there's been a lot of talk about it. It's a new style of dorm for our campus, with a combination of public spaces on the ground floor, and residences above. Many wondered who would be lucky enough to live there the first year. While it is certainly better than many of the other dorms on campus built decades ago, we wondered if it was designed as well as it could be...
Having completed a project focused on shading devices for PLC earlier in the term, we became skeptical of the shading devices used on the LLC. They look slick, with their steel louvers, but they seemed small, and we questioned whether they provided adequate shading, or if they were more of a fashion statement?
