- To determine appropriate shading requirements we used the program "Sun or Shade," developed by the Building Science Group at UC Berkeley in 2003. It takes the form of a Microsoft Excel file, which you may download here. (SunOrShadeLLC.xls) We based our data on the following:
- two people per room
- four fluorscent lights
- standard electronics (desk lamps, computers, etcetera)
- located at 44 degrees north latitude.
- We used Google SketchUp version 6 to model and test the shading devices. You may also download a compressed (zipped) copy of the SketchUp file here (device.skp.zip)
